I think the setup was good.
First of all, I do not have anything against nor I support this incident. I just want to analyze Mr. Woods’ announcement.
Mr. Wood only allow one camera in the room. The audience are strictly his family members and close friends.
This setup allows him to say, “I let my family/friends that care about him down.” in front of the camera. While I was listening to the announcement, it made me feel like Mr. Wood was talking to me as his family member and close friends.
Good setup.
